bSane bSane bSane

Another fabulous piece of work by Debbie Ridpath Ohi, a.k.a Inkygirl

Everybody who works in the real world envy the college students, every college students envies the high school students. Its such a vicious cycle of not treasuring the present and regretting upon hindsight.

Now a week from the end of semester and two weeks counting for finals, final papers, final project presentations. I'm trying to catch up with my MS-Word word count shortcuts, educational documentaries to explain for unexplained procrastination, and all the good stuff.

Lately, while researching on 'E-commerce', 'Reputation System', I try not to neglect the research on Blogline. Always keeping my eyes on the titles with words like 'CRAZY' or 'NEW', or 'HOWTO'. Just taking my next step towards geekhood. I better be ready for MBA if this is to go on.

One of the best ways to relax on the weeks before final, as I have discovered, is not by reading more news, or blogs, or message board (well, soccernet is not technically any of the above, so its good), but instead by focusing on pages with images. I had this talent of seeking admist text since I was like what, 5?

So today, while attempting to work on the 'Piano Master', I spotted something that resembles that of an image.

'Ah ha! '

And its something I've yet to see. Good!

Now I know what I can do between my 15 minutes Ramen-time.

Will Write 4 Chocolate - I love books, yet there are so many written/unwritten/unpublished books by authors, whose names we will never learn. A good sense of humor for the hardworking bunch. //

Parry and Carney - Now, I have no idea the relationship between the comics and title of the comic. This is like an emergency comic. To be used at times that you feel calm and need to be agitated (or for the lack of a better word - encouraged). You will enjoy this. I'm sure. //

Good luck for the coming 2 weeks. To me too.

Thank God for freeing up so much time today to work on my paper; literally. :D

Mystery Chubbiness

Caption: Pick your poison by Scott Ableman

So I think I have grown chubbier in the past month or so since coming back from Spring Break.

Now, I'm quite sure the Spring Break feast couldn't have done quite as much damage as it is, so its gotta be something else. I ponder and wonder, I think and I thought. Then 'Ring' (or something), a light bulb lights up.

You see, I rarely have breakfast each morning, especially after I ran out of milk a month ago. So hungry as I am after the 930 class ended, I tend to go to the closest food source there is - IMU. Rather than choosing healthier foods like subs or ... pizza? I would conveniently go for the fast food, Burger King.

Mystery solved! Its the accumulation of burger + fries and soda that landed me my junior 15 (no, it cannot be supported by evidence, I haven't weigh myself in ages).

Solution: Quit Burger King right after the semester ends. :D

Have you done your reading?

I am a hardworking part-time student

When you are a blogger in 2001, all you can do when it comes to blog is seeping through layers of text, with the occasional luck of meeting some colorful collages of Spiderman or picture of your PM. Freelancing back then is truly about creativity.

Looking ahead, well, say today, we are unknowingly surrounded by an infinite overloaded informational Internet that spans all the way around the entire planet. Spitting out daily Bollywood digests, images of the exotic Galápagos Islands, summing up sessions of conferences, or more important news about Paris Hilton and whatever she did with Lindsay Lohan last night.

If there's a better time to start freelancing and sharing, its probably now.
You may write codes, reviews, DIYs, thousand-word essays, whatever it maybe. You will get an audience.

I'm sadly restricted by both my literature ability and technology skills to publish anything spectacular, yet. However, with my collection of 74 core RSS feeds, I’m willed to cover all the 7 continents and 5 oceans.

Listed are some of the daily readings that I feel are essential for you to stay on top of things:

Digg! – You dig? I dig man! You decide whats good and cool for the community. It try to stay up to date on ‘breaking news’.

Lifehacker – You are missing out a large part of your (geek?) life by leaving out this for your daily digest. Name says it, hacker of life – lifehacker.

Cute Overload – Even a manly man needs ‘to feel the touch of a fuzzy bunny’ from time to time (as described by Folie, my STC co-worker). Yes, we love animals. Stop global warming. I’m serious!

PhD Comics – It’s not really a daily thing; but I think it’s a healthy read for several days in a week. Although it says PhD comics, if you are a grad student, try to stay away from it. Depression takes too long to heal.

Seattle Daily Photo – Miss Seattle? I do.

So there you go, that’s some links for you to start off with.
Feel free to share you must-have daily reads (you know those that motivate you to get off your bed at 7 in the morning?).

Tomorrow, we will go into the detail benefits of those reads.
Have a blastful day! If you are in Indiana, go grab some sunshine, its FREE! :D

For certainty

See, nothing is certain.

Even when it comes to my cooking.

I'm seeing things as karma now. Not necessarily things come and things go, but more of a way to train and be taught of the proper way to live. Rewards or punishment is by no means our option. As a believer, I believe the authority is with God.

I do not merit myself in the past weeks for anything deserving. So there you go, off it goes.

Pray to God that He forgives.

I miss Settlers

Geek addiction.
That's why I'm still single

What is it??

I found this on my friend's blog.
The first few people I thought of was Joy and Yuanyuan.
:D

Changes to the weather Again.

bad weather all over.

So we have had a peaceful 15 days or so, of good weather.
Really good, 70s~80s, sunny, warm, weather that nutured the spring spirit in the greens.
But we forgot we are in the Midwest - the weather is not like a linear model. The temperature will rise and it will fall.
After a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, the weather fell to a dramatic 34 Fahrenheit.

What the heck?

Make Over

changes.

Moving around furnitures can amazingly make you feel refresh and awaken. I'm glad I did it with Emil's help.

I finally got a hair-cut, after 3 long month of excusing myself because of the cold.

April Fool was YESTERDAY

When I saw the feature, I had no doubt.

I thought to myself - now that's a neat feature, not necessarily helpful, but sounds pretty cool. Just like the Internet through your toilet bowl idea. In fact Google TiSP makes less sense than the Gmail Paper idea.

How naive and foolish. (21 somemore)

I tried showing my co-worker, Brian the log-in page of Gmail that tells of the 'new' feature. But it wasn't that, at least not the new feature. What greeted us was the following line and a link.

Gmail is a new kind of webmail, built on the idea that email can be more intuitive, efficient and useful. And maybe even fun. (Psst...if you missed it, check out our April Fool's Day joke.)

Dumb dumb wants gum gum.
You are good, Google, you are good. :)
